Self-Sabotaging | Turn Around | Expect Greatness

Last night I was antsy. I was working too long of a stretch and just needed to leave the studio. But for what? I was going to do my normal late night run to Kroger and buy something healthy, but maybe "not" so healthy would find itself into my grocery bag...

Why was I even going? I wasn't even hungry. I take many natural products that suppress my appetite. I'm not dying over here. Lol. It's just what I'm "used" to. You've heard of "muscle" memory... I guess I have "hunger" memory! I do things out of habit or what I "think" will make me feel better. When actually I step on the scale after working out and trying so hard I'm not happy. I see no real change.

I got 3 blocks down and turned around. I just went back to work and watched a few Tom Hiddleston videos to cheer me up. I mean have you seen this guy? Lol. I put on some music I love and cleaned up again. No food ingested. No self-sabotaging indulged. I drank some water. I smiled. 

Life is about choices. And I've been making better and better ones every day. The bottom line is when you are about to do something good or bad, just ask yourself who will it help? And who will it harm? Take a good look at the answer.

Many of you I hear saying you are unhappy with your life and its outcome so far. So, change it. All you are now is the residual of the choices you've made in the past. Today is a NEW day, so start a new timeline. Many times the only person you have to blame for your current situations is you. But the good news is you can change all of that in 1 second of finishing this blog.  Just say, I AM changing my life, habits and destiny.

Don't want, "hope for", think about and dream about a good life for yourself. Just create it. Expect it.

I ended my late night Kroger runs last night. I don't need to do that anymore. It was fun while it lasted, but I've got more important things to do now with my time! Lol. Say goodbye to something YOU have outgrown TODAY!

Brides! Please be realistic about your WANTS and DEMANDS for your weddings ok? My whole life I've been friends more with dudes. And I hear what they think and feel all the time. You push too hard sometimes. If you can't contribute then shut it. You will never know what the pressure you put on your man does. It turns them off. So do things the right way ok? Cop Killers Are Killing Themselves | Golden Magazine | Postitivity

You're not helping anything. You're not making your claim. You are saddening and weakening us all as a country. Two wrongs have never really made a right. Sure it may feel good for the moment, but in the long run where do we stand?

I come from a neighborhood where I am the minority. There was never a problem. What changed? I saw no color I just saw my friends.

Stop isolating. Stop segregating. We are people and humans under God's hand. Help each other. Support other people and build them up. My heart hearts and so I'm trying to not point fingers except at myself. What can I do to change it?

This may seem like a page from my late mother's book, but she truly did see everything with rose colored glasses. And despite terminal illness beat the odds for years, because she CHOSE to.

I started an online magazine a few months ago called GOLDEN. Golden By Goldy Locks (And Friends) to be exact. It's taking longer than expected due to some people not being able to contribute on time. It's ok. Life happens. We move on. I just want to put out a BEAUTIFUL and SOLID piece of work whenever I cam, that INSPIRES, creates JOY, PEACE and BEAUTY inside our hearts. 

There is enough BS we read every day. I'm asking everyone to share the GOLDEN issue when it comes out. I'm getting there. And I can't thank the friends who have helped me write and contribute. We will make some change. We will put a dent in what's going on. Even if ONE person smiles... I consider that VICTORY.

Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover | Motor Cycle Boots & A Big Attitude!

As promised. A cool and true story. :-)

I went to shoot the wedding of a BFF. She then asked me to "film." I had my hands full as I was to be their photographer and capture the night. What an honor. As I approached the lighting panel near musicians gear, they got a little put out with me. I told them I was ONE OF THEM! Lol. And they didn't believe me.

I scuffled around the corners of the low lit no flash allowed museum trying to make memories for my friend. I had on work boots as I was outside shooting before hand. A loose fitting dress and one of my little muppet hats to keep my hair out of my eyes. Someone asked me to sing a number and I declined. But the bride insisted. I'm really not dressed for it I said...

I don't think anyone really thought I was dressed or was anything but the "photographer" lol.

I asked what I could sing. And the band said we play "jazz." Like I wouldn't even know what that was in my motorcycle boots. I said ok, tell me what to sing. They laughed and picked a tune.

This particular song was the jazz show tune my mother asked me to sing for my music scholarship years ago. I knew it in my sleep as she would sing it to me as a child. My mother loved show tunes. She was an actress in her younger and more healthier years. THIS song had particularly special meaning.

I normally don't grandstand. But sometimes there's no other option.

Just watch the saxophone player's face. I leave you with that. It's frickin priceless.

Never judge a book by its cover. Chances are, it's more worldly are more well-read than you are. ;-)

Entitled kids make me SICK! | Goldy Locks

Extra Excited? You bet! Read WHY!

How many times have we talked about this generation as “Entitled?” Kids having cell phones, multiple tablets, every video game known to humankind. It’s almost as though children, teens, 20 something’s EXCEPT what I had to work my rear end off as a child to get. Who am I kidding? We didn’t have that stuff when I was a kid! Lol.

When I meet someone younger with a clue, who get’s it, who has an INCREDIBLE work ethic and attitude I go CRAZY! And THAT is why I’m writing this post!

I HATE you!

I think I said in once in my lifetime. I was maybe eight? The look on my mother's face still haunts me.

I wish I'd never have said that. It wasn't until I was older that I realized what that does to a person who loves you. It's devastating and debilitating. It's a blanket that covers you that never goes away. It could be blazing hot outside and that "thing" those words still cover you...

My dad always says, "Don't ever say something that at another day you'd wish you hadn't said." I try and live by this. And this letter goes out to all the teens, and the 20 somethings who STILL complain about their parents. 

Shut the hell up. If they even are around that's huge these days. Thousands of kids are in foster homes are waiting for adoption. They'd take a scrap while you all have it made. If you're parents are "Annoying" then chances are they give a big FAT Sh!t! Be THANKFUL! Be GRATEFUL you have someone who HAS YOUR BACK!

I figured this out very early in my life. I had a very sick mother and I cherished every minute with her until the end.

I'm having a rough night. I talk about it. My car has finally had it's last hurrah. A 1998 Honda accord. People make fun of me everywhere I go asking why I drive it? Surly I could afford something better? 

When I was going through bankruptcy, a horrible horrible time in my life, it kept getting extended. Three years to be exact. I hung with the hip crowd in LA, was on TV, had the record deal and I made some bad choices letting people run big checks through my account. I trusted them I was dating one... mistake. The IRS didn't see it that way... Lol

For THREE years I couldn't have a car, a job that paid with a check, a bank account, "stuff" at my apartment. They took my house, car... I ate out of garbage cans. No one knew. I didn't want them too. It was too embarrassing. I had my pride.

My mom caught wind of how bad it was. She told no one. Instead she helped me make a deal with some back alley car lot, making her own secret monthly payments and I drove around with dealer tags for THREE years!

Illegal? You bet. Necessary? Yes. I cleaned houses for cash and lived under the radar. That Honda meant the WORLD to me because of what my mother secretly was doing. She was INCREDIBLE. She was HONORABLE.

You kids out there today have NO idea what your parents do to sacrifice for you. Get a clue. And when you do, you will NEVER say an unkind or less than gracious comment about them. If your parents are a little "iffy" which some of my friends have. That's ok. It's no reflection on you. They do the best they can with what they have to work with. Some folks never should have had kids. But just be glad you were born and move on. Find someone Else's parents to adopt. :-)

There probably will be a very cool, hot and sexy shoot coming up when I'm in a little better shape. You can bet it will involve a 1998 Honda. I know my mom would see the humor in it. 

Figure out NOW how luck you are to have ONE or even TWO parents who bust their @$$ for you daily. Thank them. DAILY. And always remember to speak works of kindness and praise for ALL they try and do for you. Figure it out now before it's too late.

After checking out the prices at our local grocery store we headed down the road to a locally operated and fresh grown food stand. The prices were HALF of the grocery store!

Low and behold in the back, BINS full of blemished or not so perfect fruits and vegetables.
