As I sat on the toilet I heard some women come in the restroom where we were playing and start talking about me.
I can't tell you how many times over the last my God you wouldn't even believe me, years of touring and playing shows I've retired to The venue restaurant only to hear people coming in drunk letting me know indirectly every criticism in detail of our show.
This time as I listened I commented, "be careful, this lead singer is sitting on the toilet listening!" The beautiful thing is that the women had kind things to say. They had no idea I was indeed listening but they had wonderful things to say.
How easy it is sometimes to talk smack criticize or say something negative. But by the wonderful things these ladies said they made me feel really good. Thus leading to you name it, another impromptu restroom photoshoot!
To those out there who find the time and the energy to speak positive words over another human being, God bless you.
I found out later that this particular party was dealing with some personal things that were challenging to the heart. What they didn't know is that particular night I was also. How kindness can bridge such a gap an aid in healing.
God bless you, precious souls. We were also honored to meet you. Thanks for letting me sit in your lap and embarrass you on your birthday! You looked mortified and embarrassed completely sorry I know my job there was done! ❤️
